Mangalore: Faulty Signal Brings Trains to a Halt for Almost Two Hours

Mangalore, Jul 13: Train passengers on Thursday July 12 had to wait for more than one-and-half hours after three trains were stopped on the tracks due to a technical failure in the railway signal system at Mangalore Junction (Kankanady),
It is learnt that the Mangalore-Puttur passenger train had left the central railway station and arrived at Mangalore junction at 6.30 pm. Due to a faulty signal, the train left from the station at 8.10 pm.
The train which was supposed to reach Puttur by 7.25 remained in Kankanady till 8 pm, and finally reached Puttur by 9 pm.
Mangalore-Bangalore and Konkan trains which arrived from Surathkal route also had to wait for a long time.
As the passengers were not given any information regarding the technical problem, the delay in trains aroused minor panic among the passengers.
