Dubai, Jul 11: The 12 semi-finalists of Gulf Voice of Mangalore, Dubai chapter are all charged up and awaiting the dawn of September 28, when the crucial penultimate round will be held. This day will be a memorable for the 12, particularly for two adjudged the best, who will represent the UAE in Doha (Qatar) on October 19, to compete for the coveted title of Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2012 .
In preparation for this event, Mangalore Konkans Dubai , the organizers of GVOM - Dubai chapter on June 29 provided a platform for training and mentoring the 12 semi-finalists. Jossie Moras, the well known voice trainer of Melodia Voice Studio, Dubai, conducted the training session.
He touched on the minute details of singing with perfection. Moras said that it is not just the voice that is the most important criteria but the selection of song, presentation, confidence, flow of lyrics are also equally important. He emphasized the importance of singing skills such as correct posture, breathing, diction, sight singing, tone, blend, musical interpretation and ear training.
During the session, each contestant was evaluated on the basis of his or her singing and necessary corrective measures were suggested to improve the performance.
Roshan D’Silva, the coordinator of GVOM – Dubai chapter welcomed the participants and explained the purpose of the training session. James Mendonca, president of Mangalore Konkans Dubai thanked all the participants and mentor Jossie Moras for the effective training session.
The semi-finals which promises to be an exciting event will be held at the Emirates Theatre, Emirates International School on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, will commence at 5:30 pm on September 28, and will conclude at approximately 10 pm.
Apart from the melodious singing of the 12 semi-finalists, the audience will get to feast on entertainment by renowned singers specially flown in from outside the UAE.
