New Delhi, Jul 10 (IANS): Pouncing on comments made by Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid about Rahul Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday said the Congress general secretary has "no clear convergent thinking".
BJP leader Ravi Shakar Prasad said that Law Minister Salman Khurshid's comment on Congress being directionless confirms their view.
"What is surprising is that it is coming from a senior minister of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, which is led by Congress from last nine years and if he says that Congress is directionless then country is in a state of drift," Prasad told reporters.
Prasad said what is more comical is Khurshid's comment about Rahul Gandhi.
"He said that Rahul Gandhi had shown only cameos of his thought and ideas, which means that Rahul who is projected as the leader in the future has no clear convergent thinking and it is being confirmed by a senior government minister," he said.
He said that Khurshid's comment also raises fingers on the functioning of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
"The state of drift is not good for the country. All this only shows underachiever Manmohan Singh has nothing to comment on this," he added.
In an interview to the Indian Express, Khurshid Monday said the Congress was not getting any "ideological direction" from Rahul Gandhi, who had shown "only cameos of his thought and ideas".
