Mangalore, Jul 9: The report prepared by three interlocutors Prof. Radha Kumar, journalist Dilip Padagaonkar, M M Answari as per the directions of the UPA government on Jammu Kashmir has taken the partnership of the separatists. In the report it is recommended to go on (continue) with ‘special autonomous status’ given to Jammu Kashmir under article 370 of the Indian constitution though it was temporary. Congress party does not have the willpower to save Jammu Kashmir as part of the nation, it is only aiming at ruling the nation, rued MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
He was addressing a protest meet organized by Save Jammu Kashmir Struggle Committee, Mangalore in front of the DC’s office here on Monday July 19.
Degrading the UPA government, MP said that the stand of congress on Jammu Kashmir shows its favor for terrorism. It is urging on for the autonomous status to be continued on Jammu Kashmir with the only aim of luring minority votes. Congress not being political for the nations benefit, but to create vote banks, he said.
There can be one prime minister to this nation and interlocutors’ report is in favor of separating Jammu Kashmir from India which should be condemned.
Sharan Pumpwell said that the UPA government is giving room for the currently ‘Pakistan Occupied Kashmir’ to be made ‘Pakistan Administered Kashmir’. Support for separatists in the report will be stringently opposed, he said. He alleged that the report was submitted to the central government on October 12, last year, but it was not disclosed till May 24, earlier this year.
Another speaker Sudhakar Joshi said that Kashmir is part of this nation and always will be. Sheik Abdulla, also had accepted provision of article 370 of Indian constitution as temporary, however in the report recommendation is made to make it permanent, he lamented.
Advocate Suvritha Kumar addressing the protestors said that as per the report, the governor of Jammu Kashmir is to be selected from state government, which is contradictory to the system of President of India electing the governor.
Prior to preparing this report, Kashmir pandits nor any patriot muslims who wish Jammu Kashmir to be part of the India, were consulted by the interlocutors, he said.
Leaders Jagadeesh Shenava, Gopal Kutthar, Dr Vaman Shenoy, Monappa Bhandary, Ramesh H among others were present. Later protestors handed over the memorandum to the DC which was addressed to the President of India.
