Abducted Student Released after 15 Days


Patna, Jul 8 (IANS): Kidnappers Sunday released a 22-year-old civil engineering student they had abducted here for ransom a fortnight earlier, police said.

Ravi Kumar, a third year student at the National Institute of Technology, was found at Masaurih, about 30 km from here, his family said.

He was kidnapped June 23 from near his rented house here, a police official said. His abductors demanded a ransom of Rs.20 lakh to free him.

The official said on the condition of anonymity that the family may have paid the ransom amount.
