New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS): India's Sania Mirza and Somdev Devvarman Tuesday were given wildcard entries by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for the 2012 London Games as the country will have its biggest ever participation in Olympics.
With Sania and Somdev getting wildcard, the number of Indian rose to seven.
Besides playing the singles, Sania will also take part in the women's doubles with Rushmi Chakravarty and the mixed event with Leander Paes, a 1996 singles bronze medallist.
Somdev, who pullled out of the Wimbledon due to injury, will be India's only representation in the men's singles.
The pair of Paes and Vishnu Vardhan along with Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna will play the men's doubles.
For Somdev, Bopanna, Vardhan and Rushmi it will be their first Games, while Paes will be taking part in his record sixth Olympics.
