Mangalore: Akash Bhavan Murder Case - Police Arrest Three

Mangalore, Jun 20: The city crime branch (CCB) police on the night of Tuesday June 19 arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Kumar near Akash Bhavan on Friday June 15.

The arrested are Gautam (22), a resident of Akash Bhavan and a painter by profession, Gourish (21), a resident of Bajal and an employ in JCB Earthmovers, and Harsharaj (20), a resident of Kulshekar and unemployed.
It may be recalled that Kumar (18) was stabbed on the night of June 15 by a group allegedly belonging to Santosh's gang. Kumar was said to be part of a rival gang led by Pradeep. An altercation ensued when Santosh's gang members waylaid Kumar and his friends and demanded the whereabouts of Pradeep, resulting in the stabbing and subsequent death of Kumar.
The police traced the accused to a bar in B C Road and arrested them.
CCIB police sub inspector H N Venkatesh Prasanna, Vishwanath, Shashidar Shetty, Ganesh Manya, Ganesh Kalladka, Chadrashekar Kuladapare, Prashant Shetty, Dinesh Bekal, Sunil Kumar and Teja Kumar were part of the operation.
