Mangalore: Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike Annual Convention a Grand Affair

Mangalore, Jun 18: As part of the 12th annual convention, the members of Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike held a programme which included conferring the ‘Brahmashri’ gold medal and distributed stationery for education, scholarships, felicitation, and cultural programme here at Town hall, Mangalore, on Sunday June 17.
Speaking after the inaugural, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MP said, “Education is our strength. Education plays an important part in shaping the mind of the child.”
Citing the examples of Narayana Guru and Koti Chennayya, Sorake added that it should enable the association to bring people together and lead their life according to their values.
J Krishna Palemar, MLA, addressed the gathering by congratulating the efforts of the members of Narayana Guru Yuva Vedhike for taking the organization to 12 years and working faithfully for the development of the community with the message of Narayana Guru.
Supritha Poojary, gold medal winner, Amitha Poojary, power lifter, silver medal winner, and Salony, karate player, were felicitated on the occasion.
The members of the Vedike conferred gold medal on Prajwal Poojary for securing 98.1 percent in the SSLC exam despite poverty. As many as 78 students of SSLC and 10 students of PU who scored above 90 percent were felicitated. In addition, more than 100 students of classes 8, 9 and 10 were given scholarships.
The stage programme was followed by a cultural programme. Katpadi Shankar Poojary, Bhavya G Poojary, Praveen Kumar Ullalbail, Sumalatha N Suvarna, Yadav Kotian, Abdul Raof Puthige, Dr Dhiraj Kumar, and Dr M Dhejappa Dhallodi were among those present on the dais.
Neelayya M Agari welcomed while Sudhakar Karkera, convener, thanked the gathering. Devdas Ayarmar presided over the occasion.
