Mangalore: Police Crack Theft Case, Recover Valuables Worth Rs 6 Lac

Mangalore, Jun 14: Kadri police on Thursday June 14 arrest four persons in connection with a major theft at the house of Jashwaruddin, a resident of Balmatta Mission Compound.
The thieves had broken into Jashwaruddin's house on the night of May 12, and despite the family members' presence in the house, they managed to decamp with cash, gold and valuables worth over Rs 6 lac.
The arrested are Arun Shanmugam Shetty (22) of Thane, Maharashtra, Venkatesh (28) and Murugesh (20) of Tamil Nadu and Kiran (20) of Davangere.
Following the theft, Jashwaruddin had lodged a complaint with the Kadri police.
On Thursday, acting on prior information, the police traced the culprits to Kadri ground and arrested them.
A laptop, digital camera, handycam, nine gold rings, three gold bangles, a gold necklace, mobile phone, gold chain, gold earrings, three watches and a bike. However, it is not certain whether the bike too was stolen or belonged to the accused, as no proper documents were found.
City crime branch inspector H Venkatesh Prasanna, SI Vishwanath Kunjattoor, ASI Sukumaran, and police staff Seenappa Poojary, Prakash, Veerabhadra and Yashwant were part of the operation.
