Islamabad, Jun 14 (IANS): Pakistani tycoon Malik Riaz, against whom contempt of court proceedings have been initiated after he accused Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry of turning a blind eye to his son's wrongdoings, has said he doesn't care if he is charged for it or sent to prison.

According to Daily Times, Riaz denied accusing the chief justice of anything but said he did not care if he was charged with contempt of court or sent to prison in the wake of his Tuesday's press conference.

Talking to a private TV channel, Riaz revealed that President Asif Ali Zardari, after he assumed office in 2008, had put forth two conditions to reinstate Justice Chaudhry as the chief justice of Pakistan, which the latter accepted.

According to Riaz, these two conditions were: "First that Justice Chaudhry will not trouble the PPP (Pakistan Peoples Party) government unduly, and second he will not run a parallel government."

Chaudhry was suspended by then president Gen. Pervez Musharraf as the chief justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court in November 2007, and also put under house arrest.

He was reinstated as the chief justice March 22, 2009.
