Kasargod, Jun 14: A Pakistani citizen was taken into police custody after he was found moving about in the town without valid documents on Monday June 11.
The accused, Abdul Basha, on interrogation by police said he was from Karachi in Pakistan and had left home in his childhood due to poverty and migrated to Bangaldesh. They then migrated to Rajasthan, Hyderabad and other places in India.
Of the six children, he and his brother Naidul Basha along with their father had left to Mecca in Saudi Arabia two years back and were working as labourers. Their father passed away in Mecca, and they were deported to Bangladesh after being caught for not possessing valid papers.
Later, he and his brother worked in a bakery at Hyderabad and came to Kasargod in search of work only last week.
Police sources said that the man was suffering from mental disorder and is under medical examination.
RAW officials as well the Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) is in Kasargod to investigate Basha's background and his purpose for entering India. As he has no valid documents certifying his Pakistan citizenship, the police are in a fix as to how to deport him.
