Mangalore: Another Dream Comes True for Education Pioneer Hajabba

Mangalore, Jun 12: Hajjaba, the fruit vendor who is responsible for education of hundreds of children in the village of Harekal, is set to take his pioneering efforts a notch higher.
His long-cherished dream of having a building for his high school will finally be realized on Thursday June 14, when the new block will be officially inaugurated.
In 1999, Hajjaba initially started a primary school from first standard and through his hard work and help from donors he could fulfill his dream of opening classes till 10th standard, adding a class every year since its establishment. For the past five years classes for high school sections were being conducted in primary section and in the school auditorium as there was shortage of classrooms.
HPCL has donated two classrooms to the school and NABARD has sanctioned 18.62 lac for development of school.
Hajjaba’s hard work does not stop with the completion of primary and high school. He next wants to build a pre-university college, if and when the government gives the green signal.
The construction of primary and high school is been completed but the school still lacks playground, road and drainage system. During monsoon rain water is accumulated near the school building.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be inaugurating the school building and MLA U T Kadar will be the chief guest.
Shailaja Bhat, zilla panchayat president, N S Karim, Bhavya Gangadar, city taluk panchayat president, Muhammad Mustaf, taluk panchayat member, Rasheeda, Harekala gram panchayat president, Edward Mathias, Harekala grama panchayat vice president, DDPI Moses Jayashekar and many others will be present on the occasion.
