Mangalore: Vikas PU College to be Inaugurated on June 11

Mangalore, Jun 9: "With the aim of benefiting the students with superior quality PU education, Vikas Education Trust is initiating Vikas PU College," said Dr D Sripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas PU College, addressing a press meet on Saturday June 9.
The inaugural ceremony of the new Vikas PU College will be held at Town Hall on Monday June 11 at 3 pm. "Vikas College will be operating on a large campus at Mary Hill in collaboration with Expert Coaching," Dr Rao informed.
Dr M Shantharam Shetty, vice-chancellor, Nitte University, will be the inaugurator. J Krishna Palemar, former minister and MLA, will preside over the programme.
Gopal Hosur, IGP (Intelligence), Bangalore, and Dr S C Sharma, vice chancellor, Tumkur University, will be the chief guests.
Prof. Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation, Ushaprabha N Nayak, secretary, Expert Educational and Charitable Foundation, M Jagannath Kamath, chartered accountant and vice chairman, ICAI, Mangalore chapter, Dr Kaverappa, ex-vice chancellor of Mangalore University, Prasanna Kumar, member, advisory committee, Vikas PU College, were the guests of honour. The evening will be followed by Fusion Music by internationally renowned ‘Shiva’.
Dr Rao said that the students in Vikas PU College will have the advantage of being coached by experienced lecturers of Expert Coaching Institution at the campus itself.
Including English (mandatory), Hindi, Kannada, and Sanskrit in the language section, there will be two combinations of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science.
"The college has permission to admit 240 students in three batches, with 80 students in each batch," he said. Dr Rao added that already 130 students have been enrolled.
Dr K Rajendra, principal, Vikas P U College, and Parthasarathi, CEO, were present at the press meet.
