New Delhi, Jun 8 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Joshi has resigned from the party.
"He has sent his resignation to (BJP president) Nitin Gadkari," said a party leader.
The move comes after Joshi, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's known foe, had to resign from the BJP's national executive in Mumbai last month.
Modi agreed to attend the party's national executive only after Gadkari asked Joshi to leave the panel.
Modi and Joshi have been at loggerheads for years. Modi stayed away from campaigning in Uttar Pradesh this year after Gadkari made Joshi a key person in the election campaign.
Both Modi and Joshi have strong ties with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
