18 Killed in Uttar Pradesh Bus-mini Truck Crash


Lucknow, May 31 (IANS): At least 18 people were killed when a Tata 407 mini truck they were travelling on collided head-on with a bus in Bulandshahr Thursday, police said.

According to officials, all the dead were on a pilgrimage and were returning from Garhganga after taking a holy dip in the Ganga river.

The accident took place near Mukundgarhi village in Secunderbaad tehsil of Bulandshahr district, around 400 km from here.

Many have been seriously injured and the condition of eight is critical, police said.

Eighteen people, including the bus driver, died on the spot, Bulandshahr Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gulab Singh told IANS.
