Panaji: Now, Goa CM Accuses Union Home Ministry of Leaking his Letters

Panaji, May 30: Two days after accusing union home ministry of taking unilateral decisions, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today alleged that the ministry was leaking the confidential correspondence between him and centre to the media.

“I had written a letter to the union home ministry on the issue of appointment of Indian Police Services (IPS) officers. Surprisingly, the letter was shown on the national media. This clearly indicates that the home ministry is leaking the correspondence,” Parrikar told reporters.

The Chief Minister, two days ago, had sought apology from the union home ministry for appointing IPS officers to Goa, without taking state government into confidence. Parrikar was apparently upset after deputy inspector General Ravindra Yadav was transferred out of the state without consulting the state government.

Parrikar has refused to relieve Yadav, who, he claimed was a good officer.

Responding to a question, the chief minister said that he will be writing letter to the Prime Minister and Home minister informing them about the decisions taken keeping in darkness the state government.

“If they rectify the mistake, then it’s fine. But if they don’t then Goa will have to move towards forming its own state cadre,” he said, adding that the chief secretary has already been asked to move the file for state cadre.

Goa which was under AGMU cadre continues to follow the practice even 25 years after attaining statehood.

Parrikar said that he has began leaving correspondence non-grata, which means that he is not taking any decision on the letters written by the union home ministry.

“Union home ministry should regret for their act. I won’t say that they should apologise because apology is a harsh word,” the chief minister added.

    Gerald, modankap-bantval Mr Parikar is much intelligent than you. Dont worry about. He will rule Goan state with good adminstration. He is much better than your previous kangress cm of Karnataka like SMk, Dharmanna etc.

    Mr. Manohar Parikkar..why center has to consult You..???? If it is not under your control keep quiet. All IPS officers have passed their exam and have become so. Which officers are good in India ???? May be a very little, we can count in our hands..!!??? Why center has o take you in confidence...!!????? Live with it..if you are right then nobody can prove you are wrong.

    It is now clear that the Union Home Ministry has leaked the confidential correspondence of Goa's CM to them. It is not fair on the part of the Union Home Ministry to do such witch-hunting on the State Govt. just because it is ruled by another political party. It only exposes the high handedness of the Central Govt. by attempting to create tussle with the State-run Govt. under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar at the behest of the Goa State Congress, who adamantly refuses to ponder as to why they were reduced to a single digit in the Goa Assembly.

    here is the catch Mr.Parrikar.You resent the transfer of Yadav because he is doing your dirty work. Because the officer u liked was transferred u made a hue and cry of the whole situation. U BJP guys have no other agenda but to

    INDIAN HOME MINISTER is a LOOPHOLE. Leaking letters is common with his ministry.

    When terrorists leaks into Indian border Home Ministry is keeping silent. Who bothers about this letter.?

    Both Centre and State respect the federal system set up in India with out harming one another's interest.Having said that Confrontations or war of words not bring any good to both parties.Leaking to the press of vital information not new but those responsible, if it said to be confidential, then guilty must be punished.I think Parikkar's series of press release relating to certain issues with Central Govt is unwarranted and it might had resolved amicably with Home Ministry.I think Parikar had other agenda to take head on with Central Govt which may bring him loss rather than gain.
