PM Hails Myanmar's Democratic Transition


New Delhi, May 27 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday welcomed Myanmar's transition to democracy and steps taken by President Thein Sein's government towards an inclusive reconciliation process.

In a statement before his three-day visit to Myanmar, Singh said he would focus on trade and investment, development of border areas and improving connectivity among other things during his visit.

This is the first visit by an Indian prime minister in 25 years.
