Villagers Beat Three Thieves to Death


Lucknow, May 19 (IANS): Three thieves were beaten to death by a mob in an Uttar Pradesh village Saturday when they allegedly tried to steal cattle.

Police said the incident took place in Saini village in Kaushambi district, about 215 km from here.

The villagers pounced on the alleged thieves and thrashed them with lathis and iron roads. The villagers later called the police and handed over their bodies.

Superintendent of Police Virendra Kumar Mishra told IANS that one of the thieves had been identified as 35-year-old Ram Lal.
