Islamabad, May 19 (IANS): A Pakistani woman was injured and three men accompanying her were killed when they were shot at while on their way to a morgue in Karachi to collect the bodies of her three sons who had earlier been fatally shot, a media report said Saturday.
While a son of Zuleikha, 58, was killed last Sunday, two of her sons were shot dead Wednesday. She was on way to collect their bodies when the attack was carried out by six men who then fled, police said.
Mohammad Imran, the 28-year-old driver of the ambulance taking the woman to the morgue, was among those killed. The other two were Abdul Basit Baloch, 32, and Shoaib Baloch, 26, reported Dawn.
The string of killings began last Sunday when Islam Baloch was shot dead. His brothers Saeed Baloch and Mujeeb Baloch registered a case in this connection. They were gunned down Wednesday.
Islam Baloch had recently had a court marriage, which could be the reason for the killings, sources were quoted as saying.
Asim Qaimkhani, a senior police official, said Zuleikha couldn't be questioned so far because she was seriously injured.
