Panaji, May 13:
Seven months after submitting the preliminary report, nuclear scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar led committee will present its final document on Goa vision 2035 in the first week of June.

Mashelkar committee which met in the city this week has decided to give detailed report on `what should be Goa’s vision for 2035.’ Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has given its accent to the Goa Golden Jubilee Development Council (GGJDC), which was formed by erstwhile Digambar Kamat led government as a part of state’s golden jubilee celebration of the liberation.

Sources stated that Parrikar had attended Mashelkar-committee meeting and asked them to give the vision document with doable things.  “Suggest those things first which can be implemented within a time frame,” the chief minister reportedly told the close door meeting.

Renowned environmentalist Madhav Gadgil and technocrat Ashank Desai are also part of the committee.

The committee had submitted its preliminary report in December last year which had hinted at having various measures including capping of the iron ore extraction in the state.

The chief minister has said that the state government can form empowered committee to implement the report.

Dr Mashelkar, national scientist with the Goan roots, had agreed to head the committee during erstwhile Kamat-led government rule. The first meeting of GGJDC was held in Pune while four sittings were held in Goa to prepare the preliminary report.
