Washington, May 9 (IANS): US employers posted more job openings in March in fresh evidence of the recovering job market, the Labor Department has reported.
The number of job openings rose to 3.74 million in March from a revised 3.57 million in February, it was reported Tuesday.
A separate Labor Department report released last week showed that the US unemployment rate edged down to 8.1 percent in April, with the total number of unemployed Americans standing at 12.5 million, reported Xinhua.
That means an average of 3.3 people competed for every job opening in March.
