Zohra 100 Years Young, Says Salman Rushdie


New Delhi, Apr 27 (IANS): Internationally acclaimed author Salman Rushdie has sent out birthday wishes to Indian theatre doyenne Zohra Sehgal, who turned a century old Friday. Rushdie says she is "100 years young".

"The eminent Indian actress Zohra Sehgal is 100 years young! Congrats to my Zohra Khala! Much love from New York," tweeted Rushdie, author of controversial book "The Satanic Verses".

Zohra currently resides in New Delhi and stays with her daughter, Odissi dancer Kiran Sehgal. She was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2007 film "Saawariya".

Bollywood celebrities like Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher too took to Twitter to greet the theatre doyenne on her birthday.
