One Killed in Blast at Japanese Plant


Tokyo, Apr 22 (IANS): One person was killed and 11 injured Sunday when an explosion tore through a chemical plant in southwestern Japan, a media report said.

The explosion occurred at around 2 a.m. at the plant belonging to Mitsui Chemicals, killing a 22-year-old worker and injuring 11 workers, reported Xinhua.

Windowpanes of some 100 houses near the plant shattered due to the explosion.
