BJP Hails Agni-5 Launch as Proud Milestone


New Delhi, Apr 19 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday "hailed" the successful launch of the Agni-5 missile.

Party president Nitin Gadkari said in a statement that the launch had raised India to the "elite club of nations".

He also congratulated scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO), calling the feat a "proud milestone in the security of the nation since India has now become a missile power".

The long-range nuclear-capable ballistic Agni-V missile can hit targets 5,000 km away. It was launched from Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast.
