Dubai, Apr 17 : Enormous preparations are under way for the decennial celebrations of St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), Dubai. Tickets are already on sale and there is good response for the sentimental evening 'Grand Konkan Showers 2012 – Wilfy Nite'.
The show is scheduled to be held on April 27 at Al Nasr Leisureland, Ice Rink, Dubai from 5.30 pm. The doors will open at 4.30 pm.

A 12-member ‘Wilfy Nite’ troupe flying in from Mangalore, Bombay and Qatar will be performing for over three hours during the event. They are all set for their superfluous renditions of the old and new songs that will take the audience back to the golden memories of the great legend himself - 'Konkan Kogul' the late Wilfy Rebimbus.

Wilfy Rebimbus had performed live on two occasions during the annual events of SMKC Dubai. The crowd will definitely miss his presence on stage but his family promises to give back to the crowd a part of the legacy that will continue in everyone’s heart forever.

Over the past decade, St Mary’s Konkan Community, Dubai has touched many hearts of the low income families back home and here in the United Arab Emirates. In addition to the zeal to uplift the less fortunate brothers and sisters, realizing the dreams of many young students, endeavours to keep the Konkani culture, language and heritage alive in a foreign land was made through the annual programmes.

The many SMKC Dubai ventures have been culturally binding and entertaining.

Fifty free entry tickets for the grand show on April 27 will be allotted as prizes for this competition in addition to other gifts. Clarification from the Organizing Committee on comments regarding the quiz of the event

It is DECENNIAL celebration of  St. Mary's Konkan Community (SMKC ) Dubai and  Jet Airways International air ticket, to be won in the contest  in addition to the 50 free entry passes and gift hampers and vouchers. 

Within a day, ONE has already submitted all correct answers to the Quiz and many have scored 90% - 95% who will also be considered for the entry pass to the event if there are not many all correct entries.     Hint:   Please click www.konkanuae.com - under Events menu for few answers. 

The winner takes it all, so hard labour yields sweet produce!

    This is a very interesting Quiz. If we put in little efforts, we can answer the questions without much difficulty. For all those who are critical of this Quiz Contest, here are some points to note:

    If you make some efforts to go through the site, you will find most of the answers to this quiz.

    People are habituated in answering easy quiz contest and want ready answers but feel lazy to make some efforts to find out the answers.

    I congratulate the person who prepared this quiz and making this very interesting.

    OMG....really very tough exams....in mine exam time i can copy answer from mine friends here there no any chance to copy also....even one answer also cant answer...very difficult paper...

    In this type of programme’s Quiz’s are prepared to attract more and more peoples thus making a mouth publicity of the programme to attract more crowds through the help of such quiz.

    But unfortunately looking at the Quiz of SMKC, it makes readers runaway from the competition by irritation and wastage of time.We should honour the person who has created this quiz with a award “Most Intelectual Person of the Universe.”

    As Organisors had rightly mentioned in a day only ONE entry got all the correct answers.DO anybody agree that this will be a right justice to a Organisation which represents entire Community ????

    Instead of publishing such time wasting amd senseless Quiz Competetion , It has been appreciated if SMKC has given this 50 tickets to the needy class people who couldn’t afford for tickets but wants to watch a show in Konkani.

    In the Quiz competition one of the question is “SMKC’s MOTTO”.Good atleast SMKC remembered their Motto.In fast SMKC has started a new trend of Organising Community programmes in 5 Star Hotels which makes wondering everybody regarding their Motto.Thus accommodating only for “Suitwala’s”and Thick pocket people to enjoy their programme and made people like me to only read the news and watch photo’s of our High Society people in websites like Daiji World.

    By keeping this show in Al Nasr Leisure Land , SMKC has given the opportunity to me and the audience like me to get an entertainment at Nominal and reachable cost.

    Thank you SMKC…But no excuses for a foolish Quiz competition.

    Who said that it is not Decennial Celebrations? For Silver/Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee, what would be the questions!!!, I must start making my homework now so that I get free air-ticket to U.S. or may be to The Holy Land.

    It is DECENNIAL celebration of SMKC Dubai and an International Jet Airways air ticket to be won in the contest..
    So good luck to all the correct entries form as the winner will bag an AIR TICKET worth AED 2000/-.
    Others will be considered for the entry pass to the event. Few submitted ones have got 95% correct. Try and you will succeed.

    This quiz is not related to great konkan kogul Wifly rebimbus...
    Here are some questions i want to ask wilfy rebimbus and daiji fans . Please answer the same:

    2. What is the name of Meena Rebimbus before marriage

    3. Which is wilfy - meenas first duet number

    4. When was Wilfy's interview broadcast in TV Daijiworld....

    5. How many songs regarding Mother (Mai) recorded in Wilfys volumes (Volume 1 to Volume42)

    I have never seen any contest as difficult as this. If you dont want to give free tickets its ok, we will buy it but simply dont make any contest so complicated. Waste of time!!
