Illegal Explosives Caused China Building Collapse

Beijing, Apr 16 (IANS): As nine people were killed in eastern China Sunday after a building collapsed following an explosion, the authorities said it had been caused by explosives illegally stored in the garage, Xinhua reported.

At least 36 people were wounded, of whom three critically, and 19 others sustained minor injuries in the incident which took place in the country's Fujian province in the morning.

The blast ripped through the garage in Subang village in the Longyan city at 10.35 a.m. toppling an adjoining residential building owned by Shubang Coal Mine, said local officials.
