Bridgetown (Barbados), Mar 29 (IANS/CMC): Former Barbados captain Ryan Hinds has been released on bail after appearing in court here Tuesday to face charges of rape.
The 31-year-old, who was dropped from the Barbados side recently following a poor run of form in the Regional First Class Championship, has been charged with raping a 28-year-old woman last month.
Magistrate Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell of the District B Magistrate's Court, granted Hinds $7,500 bail with a surety. He will now appear in court July 5.
He was also ordered to surrender his passport and report to the Holetown Police Station once a week.
This is Hinds' second brush with the law after he appeared in court last August on a number of charges, including assault. These were eventually dropped.
Hinds has played 15 Tests and 14 One-Day Internationals but has not played for West Indies in nearly three years.
