Mumbai, Mar 23: For the past 6 years, Karnataka Sangha Mumbai has been conducting ‘Literature-Cultural Convention’ to recognize people of Karnataka for their contributions to linguistics, literature, journalism and other such fields in the outskirts.
As a part of the convention, this year the ‘Sadhana Shikara Gourava Puraskara’ will be conferred on Dr Sanjeeva K Shetty, Dr B R Manjunath and Uma Nagabhushan for their accomplishments in various sectors, during the convention to be held on Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25 at Dr Vishweshwaraya Hall.
The award comprises Rs 10,000 cash prize, a memento, citation and a certificate, informed Bharath Kumar Polipu, honorary secretary of Karnataka Sangh, Mumbai.

Dr Sanjeeva Shetty
A notable persona known for his literary work in the field of Kannada literature, Dr Sanjeeva Shetty is also the head of Kannada department in Someyya College. He is the director of Kannada Prasara Samithi. ‘Mana Midiyutide’, ‘Tharanga’, ‘Haasidhavaru’, ‘Abhi-vyakthi’ are some of his litrary works.
Dr B R Manjunath
Dr B R Manjunath is a senior scientist and is also an accomplished dramatist and director. He is a member of Mysore Association, a well known organization. He has succeeded in enriching creativity and richness on the stage with his plays such as 'Apaswara Apajaya', 'Chennamma' and many others.
Uma Nagabhushan
Uma Nagabhushan hails from Tumkur and belongs to a family known for its passion for music. She has won accolades from music critics and people in general. In the year 1987 she started Mysore School of Music at Dombivli in Mumbai, which now teaches music to hundreds of students.
