Mumbai, Mar 13: ‘Mother India Bharata Vaibhava–2012’, by alumni association of the metro-based Mother India Free Night High School and Janata Shikshana Sangh was held at Dr M Vishveshwarayya memorial auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West), on Sunday March 11.
Sooru C Karkera, proprietor, Mahesh Lunch Home, presided over the programme on Sunday.
Hare Krishna Foundation chairman Kaunakar S Putran was the chief guest on the occasion.
Navi Mumbai social activist Suresh Shetty, Santa Cruz Kannada Sangh president L V Amin, Navi Mumbai Hotel Owners’ Association president Kishore Shetty, Herb & Spice director Govind B Poojary, and Star Caterers proprietor Santosh Kumar S Shetty were the guests of honour.
Ramdas H Naik (scout instructor), Harish G Maindan (convener), Jyoti Harish and lawyer Sundar J Shetty (legal), Shobha Sundar and Muddu K Poojary (Yakshagana), Sharada M Poojary couple and G R Udyavar (teachers), Punit Kumar R Shetty (chief manager Abhyudaya Bank) were felicitated for their contributions in their respective sphere.
L V Amin after releasing ‘Madari’, a souvenir, said that it’s the duty of each alumnus to support the institution that they had studied at. He added that the importance of education and alumni union will foster brotherhood
Variety cultural programmes including magic show by magician Rajesh Shah were staged on the occasion.
Janata Shikshana Sangh president Surendra A Poojary welcomed the gathering. Vice-presidents Umesh S Shetty and Sundar Moily, joint secretary T V Poojary, and joint treasurer Chandrahas B honuored the guests. Honorary chief secretary Harish G Maindan presented the annual report. Honorary treasurer Mandara N Hegde, joint secretary Bhaskar S Shetty, joint treasurer G D Shetty, and Karunakar Kaup were present on the dais.
