Mumbai, Mar 12: The metro-based Kalajagattu–Amma Chavadi ® organized a cultural extravaganza at Kavi Ratna Kalidas Natyagraha, Mulund (West), ohere recently.
Bunts Sangh president chartered accountant Shankar Shetty presided the programme.
Vidwan Ramdas Upadyaya and astrologer Ashok Purohit conveyed best wishes.
Entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Bellary, Baba’s Group chairman Mahesh Shetty, Steel Strong Valves Private Limited chairman Ramesh S Shetty, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palettady, and Bunts Sangh Domibivali local committee president Aikalal Ganeh Shetty were the guests of honour.
Sandalwood actor Shivadwaj, Bollywood actors Paki Hegde and Namruta, Chandrashekar Suvarna Mulky, and Pushkal Kumar Tonse were present on the occasion.
Bollywood producer and director Rama Shetty was felicitated during the programme.
Kalajagattu–Amma Chavadi convener Ratnakar A Shetty, president Tonse Vijay Kumar Shetty, honorary chief secretary Chandravati Vasant, and Kalajagattu children’s Yakshagana troupe representative Ashok Shetty Mundkoor were also present.
Journalist Dayasagar Chowta compered the programme. ‘Amma Chavadid Appe Site’, mythological Tulu play by playwright and director Tonse Vijay Kumar Shetty, was staged as part of the cultural extravaganza. Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvali and Vijay Kumar Shetty were the music directors.
Renowned artistes Surendra Kumar Hegde, Chandravati Vasant, Harish Shetty, Dayasagar Chowta, Prabhakar Shetty, Krishnaraj Shetty, Veena Sarapady, Madhusudan Shetty, Raghuveer Bhat, Jagdish Rao, Juliet Pereira, Pratviraj, Latesh Poojary, Sumangala Shetty, Harini M Shetty, Kruttika Amin, Pramila Shetty, Shreyas Hegde, Megha Hegde, Vishant Shetty, Neha Sarapady, Lata Nayak, Ashok Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Pratvi Shetty, Bhaskar Sarapady, Chandra Suvarna, Santosh, and Baby Sakshi Shetty and were cast in the play.
‘Mahishasura Mardini’ maiden Yakshagana play by Kalajagattu children’s touring troupe was staged after the stage programme.
Yakshagana Guru Sheni Shyam Bhat, Appayya Maniyani, Ganesh Mayya, Tonse Vijay Kumar Shetty, Shweta Shetty, Hemant Shetty, Uday Shetty, and Narayan Shetty Kumble assisted in the Yashagana play.
