Bantwal: Nagamandalotsava at Manila Attracts Large Crowd

Bantwal, Feb 17: 'Chathupavithra Nagamandalotsava' was organized at the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple premises, Sridhama, Manila, Vittal, under the guidance of Sri Sri Mohandasa Paramahamsa Swamiji on Thursday February 16.
Religious and cultural stage programme were also held on the occasion. The religious meet commenced at 6 pm on February 16 in the presence of many swamijis and political leaders.
Swamijis of different Mutts namely Subrahmanya, Odiyoor, Manila and Kerije; Kateel Temple's Asrannas Ananth and Kamaladevi Prasad and Harshavardhana Hegde of Dharmasthala were present on the dais along with other political and religious leaders like Dr Sreesha Kumar, B Ramanath Rai, Padmanabha Kottari, Shailaja Bhat, Rajesh Balekallu, Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, Soundarya Ramesh, M B Puranik and Prakash Chiplani.
All the swamijis gave their blessings to the large crowd gathered there. Religious lecture and message was delivered by Dr Sreesha Kumar M K, Sanskrit professor of Vivekanand College Puttur. The meet was followed by the cultural programme 'Samskrathika Vaibhava' performed by the students of Alvas Education Institute Moodbidre.
Nagamandalotsava began at around 11.30 pm with the 'haaluhittu seve' in the Naga Bana of the temple after which the Chatupavithra Nagamandala was carried out up till around 6 am in the big 'mandala' which was specially prepared in the temple premises for this purpose. Colourful lightings and fire crackers rendered a festive look to the temple. Annadhanam was also given to the devotees who were present in large numbers to seek blessings from the serpent god Naga.
