Kasargod, Feb 9: The director general of police, Kerala, has ordered a high level probe into an incident in which a procession was taken out on the occasion of Eid Milad at Kanhangad. Controversy had broken out at the fact that the participants of the procession were wearing military uniforms.
It is learnt that wearing of uniforms meant for Indian military without valid reason is punishable offence. There have been allegations that there were some outsiders in the procession. The DGP said this allegation will also be looked into during inquiry.
In the meanwhile, the policemen have been raiding various houses relating to the incident to nab the accused. So far, no arrests were made, although six military uniforms were confiscated from houses in Kanhangad, Balla Kadappura etc. On February 8, several houses in Adinhal were raided by the policemen, who have registered a case against 100 persons relating to the above incident.
