Bangalore, Feb 7: Former chief minister Yeddyurappa’s New Delhi visit appears to have given some worries to the top brass of BJP. They have sensed that Yeddyurrappa feels humiliated and frustrated, and is prepared to even leave the party along with a number of his followers including legislators, if he continues to be sidelined in decision making process.
As a result, an effort to retain him within the fold of BJP has begun. On the instructions of national BJP president, Nitin Gadkari, state BJP president, K S Eshwarappa, held parleys with Yeddyurappa on Monday. It is gathered that three or four rounds of discussions were held by Eshwarappa with the former CM on Monday in this connection.
Eshwarappa, it is learnt, has been entrusted with the task of convincing Yeddyyurappa that important decision in the party and government level will be taken only after consulting him and giving due weightage to his opinions. Gadkari, whom Yeddyurappa had met during his New Delhi visit, is said to have told the state unit of the party not to allow Yeddyurappa to get a feeling that he has been left out.
