Udupi: Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Kediyoor Hotel Kick off

Udupi, Feb 7: The silver jubilee celebrations of Kediyoor Hotel, which has succeeded in earning a large patronage and popularity among the people of the region, tourists, and pilgrims alike during the 25 years of its existence since inception, began here on Monday February 6.
Delivering benedictory address after inaugurating Ashtapavitra Nagamandalotsava undertaken as part of the said celebrations, Sri Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji of Admar Mutt, giving the example from the epic, Mahabharata, said, “Bheeshmacharya had confessed that his intellect and thinking power had been clouded because of the food provided to him by Duryodhana. Lord Krishna also had stressed the importance of proper food in Bhagavad Gita. Hotels need to take care to provide clean, palatable, and good food to their customers. This will not only result in popularity for them, but also the hotelliers will flourish in monetary terms.”
Speaking further on cleanliness, he said that the civic workers of the town also were inspired by Lord Krishna, as a result of which they cleaned up the entire town as soon as the recent Paryaya festivities concluded. Terming serpent god, Nagadevata, as a secular deity, on whom faith is being reposed by people of different communities and religions since times immemorial, he said Bhuvanendra Kediyoor has become a very successful hotellier due to the blessings of Lord Krishna and Mukhyaprana.
Maulana U K Abdul Aziz Darimi, vice president of All India Milli Council, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district unit, praised Bhuvanendra Kediyoor for giving top priority to trust, affection, and love, which have been fast vanishing from the world in the modern era, and for steadfastly imbibing religious principles in his life.
Fr Fred Mascarenhas, priest of Mother of Sorrows Church here, cited Bhuvanendra Kediyoor as an example to the fact that a person who is pro-society and works for the welfare of everyone, becomes popular and famous.
Astrological scholar, Kabyadi Jayarama Acharya, also spoke on the occasion. MLA, K Raghupati Bhat, presided. ‘Nadoja’ G Shankar, former state minister, Jayaprakash Hegde, entrepreneur, M Pramod Madhwaraj, and president of Udupi District Builders Association, Jerry Vincent Dias, participated as guests, and extended best wishes for the silver jubilee celebrations.
In his introductory address, Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, chairman and managing director of Kediyoor Hotels Pvt Ltd, assigned credit for his success to hard work, support of the people, and divine grace of Lord Krishna, Mukhyaprana, and the serpent god, whom he has been worshipping since long.
A number of dignitaries like zilla panchayat president, Katapadi Shankar Poojary, taluk panchayat president, Devadas Hebbar, municipal president, Kiran Kumar, former chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authrority, B Sudhakar Shetty, Fisheries Federation president, Yashpal Suvarna, also attended the programme in the capacity of guests.
Jitesh Kediyoor, director of the hotel, welcomed. Dr Yajnesh Kediyoor proposed vote of thanks. Heera B Kediyoor, Dr Brijesh Kediyoor, Dr Shweta Kediyoor, and Bhavyashree Kediyoor, were present.

Earlier in the day, a Horekanike procession comprising vehicles loaded with foodgrains, vegetables, tender coconuts, banana, and various other items, which were donated by various citizens and organizations, was inaugurated at Jodukatte by Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Mutt. G Shankar, MLA Raghupati Bhat, Yashpal Suvarna, Pramod Madhwaraj, former MLA, U R Sabhapaty, and many others participated in the procession. The procession was made up of over 80 vehicles.
