Dubai, Feb 5: Byndoor Catholic Association (BCA), considered to be one of the first regional associations formed in UAE, celebrated its 22nd anniversary in a grand manner at Antakshari Hall, President Hotel, Karama here on Friday February 3.
The programme commenced at 12:15 pm with prayer song and Bharatanatyam dance from Sheya Gras and Shaina Gras.
Joseph Mathias, managing director of Merit Freight Systems, Dubai was the chief guest for the occasion. Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld, Dayan D’Souza, Daiji Dubai and Eric D’Souza, president of Karaval Milan, Nanu Marol, Konkani writer and Stephen Cornelio, businessman were the honorary guests.
BCA honorary president Rudolph Pereira and BCA president Salvadore Nazareth welcomed the dignitaries on stage. BCA secretary Dinesh Gras read out the annual report of BCA and also spoke about the future aims and plans of the association.
Chief guest Joseph Mathias in his brief address congratulated BCA and all parishioners in UAE for keeping unity for the last 22 years. Dayan D’Souza, Walter Nandalike and Nanu Marol too lauded BCA and the parishioners for their unity and said that BCA was one of UAE's second senior association. Eric D’Souza wished all the success to BCA on 22nd anniversary.

They were called upon the stage for oath-taking and the entire gathering wished the newly formed committee members grand success in their future endeavours.
Various cultural programmes were presented. The entire entertainment programme was organised under the leadership of BCA cultural secretary’s Rony Byndoor and Ashok Dias.
Rony Byndoor, the most popular singer in Dubai, along with talented singers Miller Rodrigues, Gretta D'Souza and Jessy Nazareth rendered various Konkani songs and performed non-stop baila dance.
Young sensation Goldina D'Souza provided the background music for the entire programme, supported by James Fernandes.
Several breathtaking dances and songs were performed by young kids for Bollywood songs. Arvin Dias, Benita Moteiro, Melvin Lobo, Fomina Louis, Shaina Gras, Shea Gras, Carol D’Souza, Claren D’Souza, Riyola Santhis Rochel Saldhana, Nikitha, Anitha D’Souza and Vinitha Bhatiya won the hearts of the audience with their performances. Ashok Byndoor, Dinesh Gras and Kiran Lobo enacted rib-tickling skits, jokes and country dance which had the audience thoroughly entertained.
Spot questions were conducted by Roshni Gras. BCA newly-elected president Francis Rebello felicitated all the performers who entertained the gathering. Well-known singer Gretta D’Souza and noted keyboard player Goldina D'Souza were felicitated by president Salvodore Nazreth and thanked for their continuous support.
BCA committee member Archie Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks. The entire programme was compered by BCA co-treasurer Shaila Gras.
