Mangalore: Karavali Chitra Kalvidara Chavadi to Organize 'Varna Vanitha'

Mangalore, Feb 2: The women artists of Karavali Chitra Kalvidara Chavadi will organize an art camp
'Varna Vanitha' at Gandhinagar Park, Mannagudda here on February 4 and 5.

It is an exclusive programme 'By women…. for women' to give an insight to their talent, creativity and ability. Its a unique opportunity for the public to see 12 women artists paint from morning till evening on both the days with different mediums to create art works.

They will also showcase their previous works for public viewing. The purpose of the art camp is also to inspire younger and older generation to come forward and join hands with these ladies to exhibit their talent and creativity.

On February 4 the inauguration will be done by Vanitha G Pai, CEO, Ekam Candles, Manipal at 9-30 am with Geetha Nayak (deputy mayor, MCC, Mangalore.), Bharathi (SI, Mangalore) And Vidya Dinkar (co-ordinator, Citizens Forum, Mangalore) as chief guests.

On Sunday February 5 there will be Hari Kathe by Kumari Nayangowri, Seraje, Kanyan at 3 p.m.
followed by “Nagusobagu” by Bhuvaneshwari Hegde and  Sathyavathi Surathkal at 4 p.m.

Valedictory function at 5 pm will be presided by Lekshmi Kumaran, (D.G.M, Corporate Communications, MRPL) with Chandrakala Nandavar (Ex- President, Karavali Writers & Readers Association),  Parameshwari Lokeshwar (well-known writer), Kodibettu Rajalakshmi (Writer & Reporter) & Sashi Shetty (Artist) as chief guests.

Participating artists: Veena Srinivas, Sapna Noronha, Asha Shetty, Reshma Shetty, Sudha Nayak, Vidya Kamath, Veena Madhusudhan, Renuka, Lakshmi Bijli, Sheela Nayak, Nisha Bangera & Jayashree.
