Mangalore, Jan 25: "Dr Prabhakar Bhat who made statements against another community was expressing his views on those who were hurting the sentiments of people of Hindu community. There was nothing wrong and the party stands by his statements," asserted K Monappa Bhandary, district BJP spokesperson.
He was addressing reporters at a press conference held at district BJP office here on Wednesday January 25.
"People of minority communities live with integrity with majority community in the mainstream, but the Congress party which calls itself ‘secular’ is trying to divide the society," he said.
"RSS has been fighting against all social evils since its inception 86 years ago. Hindu Samajotsavas have been conducted to safeguard the religious and cultural richness of the land. In turn, the Congress party has been provoking a few youths from the minority to evoke disturbance in the society," he alleged.
He also said that the party will hold a protest condemning the FIR registered against Dr Prabhakar Bhat. MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Nitin Kumar among others were present.
