Udupi, Jan 23: A team of Congress overseers arrived at Congress Bhavan, Brahmagiri, on Sunday January 22, to gather opinions from activists in order to shortlist the names of candidates for parliamentary elections of Udupi–Chikmagalur constituency.

The election for the post of Member of Parliament (MP) in the constituency arose owing to the resignation of former MP D V Sadanand Gowda who was elected as chief minister and also MLC, recently.

The proceedings of the meeting will be informed to Congress high command,” he said. Patil added that a similar meeting was held in Chikmagalur on Friday January 20.
