Bantwal, Jan 23: “The new generations must follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi without a choice,” said MLA B Ramanath Rai.
He was speaking after inaugurating a one-day seminar on ‘Gandhi’s Ideology on Farming and Rural Development—Present Challenges’, which was organized by the economics department of Bantwal First Grade College at Hotel Srinivas Residency auditorium on Sunday January 22.
“The study of Gandhi’s ideology on farming and rural development by the students will contribute to economic growth besides social development,” added Rai.
Professor Krishnappa Madival presided over the programme. Mysore University head of department of economics Dr K Shivachittappa, in his keynote address, said that the students play a vital role in eradicating the caste system which makes them humane in contributing for rural development of our country.
“Introspection of Gandhi’s ideology is the need of the hour to overcome various issues facing the country,” added Dr Shivachittappa.
