Doha, Jan 21 (IANS) Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Imran Hassan Khan secured Olympic berths on the concluding day of the Asian Shooting Championships here, ensuring India of at least 11 London Games' spots from the discipline.
Manavjit shot an overall score of 139 to win the gold in the men's trap event and the ticket to London. His effort gave India its seventh gold of the competition in the senior category.
Imran Hassan finished fifth in the men's 50m rifle 3-positions but it was good enough on the day for an Olympic slot. In the same event, Sanjeev Rajput won the gold while star shooter Gagan Narang settled for bronze. They both shot a total of 1241 and 1232 respectively.
Imran Hassan, who shot 1224.4, qualified as the shooters who finished above him had earlier already qualified for the mega event in July-August. Korea's Kim Jonghyun and Han Jinseop came second and fourth in the finals here.
India also won the team gold and silver in the 50m rifle 3-positions and trap event.
