Udupi: Three-day Seminar on Contemporary Art Begins

Udupi, Jan 20: A three-day seminar on contemporary art created by using materials sourced from the earth was inaugurated at Bhavani Mantap, Ambalapady, on Thursday January 19.  It has been organized by city-based Vraksha Kala Sangatane.
 
Dr Vijay Ballal, managing trustee of Janardhan Mahakali temple, Ambalpady, inaugurated the seminar.


 

Internationally-acclaimed contemporary artist and resource person Ganjip Raghupati Bhat was the chief guest who said that art threatened with oblivion at an alarming rate in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, and has to be preserved for posterity.
 
Vraksha Kala Sangatane promoter Gururaj Sanil, artists Ravi Hirebettu, and sand artist Venki Palimar were present on the occasion.
