Bangalore, Jan 19: The BJP, after silently observing the activities of ‘Karnataka BJP Hiriyara Vedike (Elders Forum)’ for some time, has decided that enough is enough. It has initiated efforts to cut some people, who have been undertaking travel all over the state under the banner of the above forum, to size.
It may be recalled that leaders who have been convening addresses and press conferences at various places in the name of the said forum, have been reiterating their demand for the ouster of B S Yeddyurappa from the party for saving the state BJP from the brink of disaster. They have also created embarrassing moments for BJP with some other comments.
State president of BJP, K S Eshwarappa, served show cause notice on former president of the party and self-styled president of Hiriyara Vedike, B B Shivappa, seeking his explanations to the public utterances made by him. Shivappa has been given a week’s time to reply. Eshwarappa said the party will take further steps after waiting for Shivappa’s reply.
Although the Vedike claims to be a BJP forum, Shivappais is the lone member of this group who hails from BJP, while some others, including Urumajalu Rama Bhat, are not with BJP now. As such, BJP has served notice only on Shivappa.
