Hyderabad, Apr 15: Telangana is set to become the epicentre of international dialogue and progressive thought as over 450 delegates from more than 100 countries prepare to gather for the Bharat Summit on April 25 and 26. The high-profile event, jointly organised by the Government of Telangana and the Samruddha Bharat Foundation, will be held under the theme "Delivering Global Justice", marking the 70th anniversary of the historic Bandung Conference that sowed the seeds of the Non-Aligned Movement.
In a joint press briefing, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and senior Congress leaders including Salman Khurshid, Meenakshi Natarajan, and Gurdeep Sappal unveiled the official logo of the summit and shared details of the grand event.

The two-day conclave will see participation from influential global policymakers, ministers, parliamentarians, party heads, leading academics, civil society champions, and representatives of over 25 international think tanks. Among the key Indian dignitaries attending will be Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi, and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.
"The Bharat Summit is poised to be a landmark gathering of over 450 global minds, including 40-50 ministers, 50 senators and MPs, nearly 100 progressive parties and 100 domain experts," Deputy CM Vikramarka stated. "Our hope is to establish this summit as a permanent forum for all forces advocating for a democratic, liberal, and equitable world."
The discussions at the summit will explore critical themes such as economic and climate justice, pluralism, multilateralism, and inclusive global governance. The event aims to shine a spotlight on India’s legacy in championing peace, justice, and solidarity among nations.
Minister Sridhar Babu said the summit would also serve as a showcase for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's “Telangana Rising” vision—inviting global investors, entrepreneurs, and changemakers to become part of the state’s development journey.
Veteran Congress leader Salman Khurshid reflected on India’s long-standing leadership in world affairs. "From Nehru to Manmohan Singh, India has been at the forefront of international causes—be it the anti-colonial struggle, the NAM, or humanitarian assistance. Bharat Summit echoes that very spirit,” he remarked.
Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda struck a powerful note on the summit’s global context. "In a time when democracy is under siege and the world is being split into economic and political blocs, India has the responsibility to show that a moral and just path is still possible. This summit is the beginning of a global progressive movement,” Pitroda said.
Deputy CM Vikramarka extended his gratitude to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for supporting the initiative, which he described as a significant step towards making Telangana a beacon of global cooperation and thought leadership for the next 25 years.
The summit is expected to become an annual feature, solidifying Telangana’s role on the world stage and giving momentum to India's evolving voice in global affairs.
