Mangalore, Jan 19: Narasimha (70), resident of Shaktinagar here, was allegedly killed by his neighbour on frivolous grounds on the night of Wednesday January 18.
Narasimha was the neighbour of Ganesh (30), an auto rickshaw driver by profession.
It is gathered that Narasimha’s wife had led her dog outside her compound at night to help it relieve itself. The spot where the dog was allowed to urinate happened to be close to Ganesh’s house. Ganesh’s wife objected to this, giving rise to verbal altercation between the two ladies.
Soon, Ganesh came to his wife's help, and began taking Narasimha’s wife to task. Narasimha too joined the quarrel, taking his wife’s side.
After exchange of unparliamentary words and choicest abuses, Ganesh, in a fit of rage, hit Narasimha's head with an iron rod, it is learnt. Narasimha collapsed on the spot, and was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared brought dead.
Ganesh has been arrested. A case in this connection was registered in rural police station at Kankanady. The police have begun investigation.
