Udupi, Mar 30: The Lions Club Udyavara Sunshine celebrated International Women's Day by honoring two distinguished women for their remarkable contributions to society. The event recognized the achievements of social worker Jayashree and Dr Diana Saldanha, who was recently awarded PhD.

The program commenced with a warm welcome to the guests and members. Lion Praveen Pinto introduced Dr Diana Saldanha, highlighting her accomplishments and dedication to her field. Similarly, Lion Royce Fernandes provided an insightful introduction to social worker Jayashree, praising her tireless efforts in social service and community welfare.

The club president, Lion Ronald Rebello, felicitated the honorees, expressing appreciation for their inspiring work. He was joined by club secretary Lion Gerald Pereira, treasurer Lion Anil Menezes, and former presidents, John Fernandes, Lion Godfrey D’Souza, and Lion Anil Lobo, who collectively extended their congratulations to the awardees.

During the event, speakers acknowledged the invaluable contributions of women in various fields and emphasized the importance of recognizing and empowering them. The honorees expressed their gratitude to the Lions Club Udyavara Sunshine for the recognition and pledged to continue their efforts in making a difference in society.
