Mangalore, Jan 14: Karnataka Chief Minister (CM), D V Sadananda Gowda (DVS), is scheduled to arrive in the city from Shimoga by helicopter at 2.30 pm on January 16 from Shimoga. He will take part in the valedictory ceremony of the ongoing 17th National Youth Festival in the city on that day at 4.30 pm and stay here overnight.
On January 17, DVS will visit Taravadumane in Devaragunda in Sullia taluk by car, after arriving at Kodialbail Mahatma Gandhi Malnad High Schooll ground in Sullia taluk by helicopter. He will take part in Rakteshwari and Sri Vishnumurty Daiva Kola programme there. Devaragunda is the original place to which his family belongs to. It is said that special prayers had been offered to the deities there by the elder members of his family before he became CM. He will return to the city same day at 3 pm by helicopter.
The CM will take part in the felicitation programme of Shirur Mutt Swamiji being held at 8 pm at Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Mantap at Car Street, Udupi. At 9 pm, the CM will participate in the centenary programme of Udupi Cooperative Town Bank Ltd and stay overnight in Udupi.
From 5 to 8 am on January 18, he will witness the ascension to the Paryaya throne by Sri Vishwavallabhateertha Swamiji of Sode Mutt, and then take part in Paryaya Darbar and other festivities. At 9.30 am, he will participate in the foundation laying ceremony of a residential complex near Karavali Junction, Udupi.
