Mangalore, Jan 13: The post conference workshop of the ‘8th All India Physiotherapy Conference’ was held at Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy auditorium on Thursday January 12.
Shree Devi Education Trust chairman A Sadanand Shetty inaugurated the workshop on Thursday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadanand Shetty appreciated the efforts by the management of South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Association for providing such an approachable platform. He also said that students should be provided with knowledge apart from that found in books.
Shree Devi Education Trust secretary Maina S Shetty, ‘Physio—Week 2012’ convener Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, Alva’s College of Physiotherapy vice-principal Dr A Pitchaiah, Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy principal Dr S Earnest Jacob, and Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy principal Dr Vijay P were present on the occasion.
Dr Ali emphasized the support of Shree Devi Education Trust in organizing Physio - Week. He further said that organizing a conference needs support from everyone and thanked all for their support in making the event a success.
Dr C Prabhu, speaker of the post conference for the topic ‘Animated CME on Spinal Radiology: A Systemic Interpretation for Physical Therapists’ spoke about the common problem faced by physio students in radiology.
He said that the main objective of his efforts is to make the topic interesting for students through the use of animation and hence provide them a change from the usual classroom teaching method that at times can be monotonous.
“Introducing the concept of dynamic classrooms will retain the interest of the students in the topic and make things easy to understand and hence improve the confidence of the students,” added Dr Prabhu.
Dr Vijay P proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated the new concept of teaching.
