Bantwal: Town Council Meeting Throws Spotlight on Issues in Wards

Bantwal, Jan 11: The general body meeting of the town council was held under the chairmanship of town councilor B Dinesh Bhandary on Wednesday January 11.

It was unanimously agreed to forward a proposal of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Underground Drainage Board related to the second phase of drinking water project for town municipality, to the state administration, which will be undertaken at a cost of Rs 93.16 crore.

It was also decided to set aside funds in the budget to install CCTV on the basis of recommendations by the town police.

Govind Prabhu raised the issue of unauthorized water connection within the limits of the town council while CEO R Jattanna said that the operation against unauthorized water connections will be completed by the end of January.

Mohammed Nandarabettu, Suresh Kumar, Malati Ganesh, Suresh Kulal, Mohammed Sheriff, Sridar Malli, and Mahabala Shetty voiced various issues about their respective wards.
It was also decided to offer conditional support to the pipeline work of MSEZ in the limits of the town council.

Deputy councilor Janaki Gopal and steering committee president Vasanti Gangadhar were present on the dais.
