Mangalore, Jan 10: As part of Physio week-2012 and eighth 'All India Physiotherapy Conference' organized by the South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Association, a pre-conference was organized on Tuesday January 10 at Dr M V Shetty College auditorium, here.
The pre-conference was inaugurated by Dr Ranjit Shetty, trustee, Dr M V Shetty Trust. Dr Pradeep Shankar, vice principal of JSS Mysore graced the event as the guest of honour.
The topic for the conference was 'Clinical reasoning in evaluation and rehabilitation of vertebral column'. The resource person was Dr Antony Leo Aseer, associate professor, Shri Ramchandra University, Chennai. The second session was conducted on 'Integrated Manual therapy of spine' by Dr Andrews Milton, vice principal, Bethany Navjeevan College of Physiotherapy, Thiruvananthpuram.
Dr Earnest Jacob, principal of Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, welcomed the dignitaries and delegates to the conference.
Dr Ranjit Shetty in his inaugural speech stressed on the importance of the physiotherapy profession as an integral part of the physical rehabilitation team and hoped that the delegates and students make most of the conference. He appreciated the conference as a great media to update the students with recent advances.
The conference was attended in large numbers with around 300 delegates coming from across the country. The resource persons were well appreciated for their pearls of wisdom.
The key note address was given by Dr Sahana Kamath, lecturer at Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.
