Udupi, Jan 10: The annual Saptotsava is being held at Sri Krishna Mutt here since Monday January 9.
The entire surroundings of Sri Krishna Mutt wore a dazzling appearance because of attractive illuminations and colourful lightings that have been set up for the event. Saptotsava is being held under the aegis of Sri Krishna Mutt and Shirur Mutt.
On Monday, two chariots were pulled through the car street. An attractive Teppotsava was performed on the occasion in Madhwa Sarovar of Sri Krishna Mutt. Saptotsava will culminate with the pulling of three chariots and Choornotsava on Makara Sankranti day, which falls on January 14.
Shirur Mutt head, Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji, and Kaniyoor Mutt head, Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji, were present during the festivities. Thousands of devotees had gathered witness the grandeur of arrangements and to pay obeisance to Lord Srikrishna.
